A legendary film franchise playing at a legendary San Antonio theatre circuit deserved a legendary social media campaign.
Charged with ensuring San Antonio’s moviegoers pre-ordered their “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” tickets at Santikos Entertainment over competing Alamo City theatres, we devised a strategic and targeted social media campaign aimed at generating hype for San Antonians to pre-order their “Rogue One” tickets at Santikos (as opposed to competing theatres) on Sunday night, November 27th at 11:01 PM (the date and time Disney officially allowed us to begin selling tickets).
To generate hype for the Sunday night launch, we ran three Facebook and Instagram ads running together in concert, highlighting when tickets would go on sale and why theatregoers should pre-order their “Rogue One” tickets at Santikos versus other competitors. We made this case by highlighting Santikos’s game-changing amenity offerings
(reclined seating, IMAX/AVX screens, D-BOX seating, and in-theatre dining). Together, the ads ran all day over the weekend leading up to the Sunday night launch (Friday, November 25th – Sunday, November 27th). All posts were neatly tied together with the hashtag. “#MaySantikosBeWithYou.”
Over the course of the following week (Monday, November 28th through Thursday, December 1st), we promptly hit our target audience with a series of original, creative, funny, and inspiring posts. Together these posts are aimed at attracting any remaining San Antonian moviegoers eager to pre-order their “Rogue One” tickets.
Altogether, the campaign resulted in an impressive 595 link clicks to the Santikos “Rogue One” ticket sale page, a boosted Santikos Entertainment brand, and major ticket sales.
