About Tribu

Founded in 2011, by Sara S. Helmy, Tribu Creative exists to create Tribes for brands. We believe in digital marketing that doesn’t pollute the internet and in nurturing brands that truly resonate with the human heart. We work because we deeply enjoy what we do – we love business, we love creativity, and we love people.

Proud Moments

The Day We Purchased Our Home

Tribu started in a plastic manufacturing warehouse. At our inception, we had only $6,000 in our bank account. We worked for several years with gratitude for the space. It was worth it. In 2015 we purchased what is now the Tribu office. Believed to be built in the 1930s, our new space has been fully converted into offices but retains that home-like vibe and sits a short walk away from the famous San Antonio Pearl. The picture you see is the Tribe sharing a champagne toast on closing day.

Proud Moments

The Places Our Work Has Been Featured

We aren’t a PR agency, so most pick-ups are organically earned. Our work has been organically featured in outlets such as E! Entertainment News and The Economist. We once had a campaign go globally viral because we helped a man propose to his now-wife during a World Cup Commercial. The proposal commercial was humorous and straightforward, filmed entirely in a small apartment, but the ideas were ingenious and went so far.

Proud Moments

Helping The Alamo City Celebrate 300 Years

How do you celebrate a city’s 300th birthday? With Tribu! We proudly operated all the digital communications, including the rapid development of a comprehensive website for the City of San Antonio during its Tricentennial Celebration. We enjoyed collaborating with the City of New Orleans to trade influencers as they too, celebrated their 300th birthday. Live social media backstage with Pat Benautar as the whole City of San Antonio counted down to a new year was a great time as well.

Proud Moments

Breaking Records for the Fastest Gained Market Share for a New Liquor SKU

When craft whiskey, Devils River Whiskey, approached us slightly before their intended launch with nothing more than a bottle and a label we partnered up and hit the ground running. We all believed in the potential of the brand, and bringing it to life we did. We won numerous awards, but the best part was when Neilson reported their SKU as one of the fastest growing in Texas - despite having minor budgets in comparison to some of the larger players in the $9B space. Two years after our launch, Devils River Whiskey could be found in 33 states across America.

Proud Moments

Restoring Millennial Market Share to a Dying Brand in a Dying Category

While we can’t say the who in this one, we once restored one of your favorite grocery items from being forgotten to remembered and then frequently consumed again, we’ll give you a hint - you eat it every Thanksgiving. We did this by re-establishing a brand founded in the 1800s to relevance, particularly with Millennial consumers, by leveraging social media. When IRI data reported the brand as the number one consumed in the category, we were absolutely thrilled.
