3 Converting Website Features Great Brands Can’t Afford to Miss

As a developer, I have the opportunity to explore the world behind the curtains of user interaction with the incredibly talented UX designers on my team. Those experiences have given us concrete data on some of the most important features of website design that users interact with most, features that turn users off, as well as features that increase user engagement. All of which are incredibly vital to the success of your business. Navigation menus, website speed, and blogs are some of the most important features that your business should be taking seriously.

Navigation Menus

A navigation menu is the equivalent of your business showroom. It provides the user a list of what your site has to offer in a matter of seconds. It helps a user go directly to the information that is most relevant to them making information easily accessible. It highlights information on your website that a user may not have known they needed.

Website Speed

Website speed is one of the biggest reasons a user will leave a website. 40% of visitors will abandon a website if it takes over 3 seconds to load. This leads to poor conversion rates, a frustrating user experience, as well as decreases the value of the services you are trying to provide. Slow page speed can be avoided with reliable web hosting, optimized code, and utilizing a content management system when there is no designated tech role within the company.

Blogs

Blogs are undervalued assets to a company website. A well-designed blog can put you in a position of authority in your industry. Comments on blog posts encourage engagement on your page. Ideas from blog users can be used as key indicators of what they need, the content they find most useful, as well as opportunities for growth. Blogs also increase your page’s visibility with Google. Hubspot recently shared 31 Business Blogging Stats You Need to Know in 2020.

Here are a few statistics that I found interesting:

  • Blogs can result in a 434% increase in indexed pages and a 97% increase in indexed links. (DemandMetric)
  • Companies with blogs produce an average of 67% more leads monthly than companies that don’t blog. (DemandMetric)
  • Businesses that blog get 55% more website visitors than businesses that don’t. (HubSpot)

Whatever your digital marketing strategy may be regarding the design and maintenance of your website, it is a great idea to consult with a reputable digital marketing agency that specializes in website features that can provide the greatest impact in the areas you need most. Your website should be well thought out with the user in mind. A happy user most often converts into a loyal customer!
